The flanking idols, Suryaprabha Bodhisattva and Candraprabha Bodhisattva, of the national treasure "The Triad of the Healing Buddha" are not only considered a masterpiece among Japanese Buddhist sculptures, but are also said to be foremost among the finest works of art in the world when it comes to bronze statues.
The alluring curvaceousness and glossy black luster are characteristics of the actual statue, so when we reproduced this historic work of art, we chose to emphasize the feeling you get from praying near to it and made it a wooden statue carved out of camphor rather than bronze. Afterwards we had renowned Japanese colorist, Ms. Chihiro Takamura (篁千礼), apply colors as she saw fit. It has since become a valuable masterpiece of art.
