A soothing cat Buddha portrayed as Amida Buddha with Afro hair! We made good use of the tender bark of the Kiso hinoki, applied colors that evoke images of the five colors of Buddhism (colors that express Buddha's wisdom and spirit) to the Buddha's hair, and completed the hair colorfully.

Profiles of the artists: They are a unit composed of a husband, a Buddhist image maker, and a wife, who is in charge of design supervision. The unit was established in 2005. In addition to creating and restoring all sorts of Buddhist statutes of various sizes, the unit developed the nekobutsu series. Although the works are less than 10 cm, their charming expressions and overall balance are completed carefully with skills special to Buddhist image makers. And they gain in popularity.
