Akishino Temple Certified Gigei-ten (秋篠寺 伎芸天立像)

The original is a wooden standing statue of the Yakushi triad Gigeiten, an Important Cultural Property owned by Akishino Temple in Nara. This is the only known statue of Gigeiten in Japan, and is believed to bear the fulfillment of artistic accomplishments as well as wealth and good fortune. It is highly appreciated across the entertainment industry, artists, and creators.

With the permission of Akishino Temple, we had the rare opportunity to scan the actual original Buddha statue using 3D imaging, to produce a high-definition data scan. Based on this, the brand “Butuzou World” was able to faithfully reproduce the elegant form of the statue using the precision wood carving techniques well-known in the Buddha Statue World. In addition, by combining the modeling and coloring techniques of the brand’s sister brand "Isumu", the brand reproduced the kind of texture unique to those statues that have stood the test of time.

Although the size is different from the actual statue, this replica will make you feel as though you are standing in front of the real statue. By holding the statue in your hands, one can appreciate the back and sides of the statue, which are not easily seen in temples, and this is one of the benefits of owning a reproduction.
