This Amida Nyorai statue is a replica of one of the Five Wisdom Tathagatas, created by Mokujiki Shōnin, a monk who traveled throughout Japan during the Edo period and continued to make statues for the common people in his hometown of Yamanashi. The statue is known for its charming, slightly tilted and smiling human-like face that gives a sense of warmth and positive energy to the viewer.
