Fugen Bosatsu (Samantabhadra Bodhisattva) is traditionally associated with compassion and steady practice, and is often depicted riding a white elephant with palms joined.
This Hakuzo Zoki piece is crafted to carry an antique-like presence—quiet, dignified, and suitable for a home altar, a meditation space, or a thoughtful interior setting.
About this piece
Made in Japan using Takaoka-copperware techniques, this statue presents Fugen Bosatsu in a classic iconography: seated on a white elephant, hands in gasshō (palms together). In Buddhist tradition, Fugen is also known as a protector of the Lotus Sutra and is linked with stabilizing the mind among the six perfections (rokuharamitsu).
Cultural note
Buddhist images are sacred to many people and traditions. If you display this piece, it is generally considered respectful to place it in a clean, elevated area, avoid placing it directly on the floor, and treat it as an object of reverence rather than decoration alone.

Consecration (Eye-opening Ceremony)
You can choose an option to consecrate this statue before shipping from Japan. If you select this option, we will bring the statue for an eye-opening ceremony and ship it to you after the ritual is complete.
This is recommended if you want your statue to be more than an object — a presence you can practice with. This option is not required.
