The 6th year of Reiwa is the Year of the Dragon. The dragon is considered an extremely auspicious creature associated with flourishing fortunes, attracting wealth, good health, prosperity for descendants, and abundant blessings for the nation.
Our product is a zodiac ornament featuring the dragon (ryu), embodying the dignity befitting a divine beast and numerous fortunes. It is intricately carved in the form of Fudo Myoo, a deity known for its immense merit in warding off misfortune. The compact palm-sized design allows it to be displayed in various locations. We received the blessings of a purification and fortune-invoking Goma prayer at the Mikamo Fudo Temple, known for its devoted following as a temple for prayers from the Manyoshu.
The original sculpture is the work of the artist Goh Sakai, active under the art unit "Hotokeya Sakai." Renowned for his popular "Neko Butsu" series, where he carves Buddha statues in the adorable form of cats, along with various other unique Buddhist sculptures created through his distinctive artistic expression. This zodiac ornament, adorned with auspicious colors typical of Buddhist sculptures, reflects the artist's unique style, combining cuteness with strength. Please display it with the hope for a year full of happiness.
