Weida Tian, the leader of the Four Heavenly Kings and the Eight Generals, as well as the entire 32 Generals, who are subordinate to Zouchouten, is particularly revered as the guardian deity of temple precincts.
Derived from folk tales that convey his swiftness, he is synonymous with agility, swiftly removing any obstacles that impede practitioners' progress.
The model for this depiction is a statue of Weida Tian housed in a temple within the Pingyao Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Shanxi Province, China. Believed to be a sculpture from the Ming Dynasty, its beautifully preserved polychrome coloring enhances its lifelike pose, conveying a sense of dynamic motion as if about to sprint forth.
Developed jointly with a Chinese sculpting team, this masterpiece, known as "Tian Xia Di Yi Weida," marks the first collaboration with overseas statues for the manufacturer.
